Freon Cooling Systems

Cold Rooms with Freon

The refrigerant gases sector is in full evolution due to the new European regulation regarding the reduction of the use of fluorinated greenhouse gases by 70% in the year 2030, this regulation goes together with the application of the tax on the fluorinated gases. However at the moment they can still be used and this regulation depends on whether it is a substitute for this type of gases.

At the moment there is another type of non-fluorinated alternative refrigerants such as: R-744 (CO2), R-600a (isobutane), R-290 (propane), R-1270 (propylene) and R-717 (Ammonia).

Fluorated gases such as R-410a are widely used in more extensive refrigeration equipment such as supermarkets. It is true that there are certain restrictions that make people use  gas R-32 instead.
